Applicants must be or employ collectors who are members of local communities involved in forest conservation activities or living adjacent to the collecting sites. Wild harvest includes, but not limited to, herbs, edible plants, other plants, honey, and lac, but does not cover wild game animals.
The applicants may also apply for certification of their household based processing and packing of own wild products simultaneously with that of their wild harvest operations.
Wild harvest certifications are available under the following programs:
- IFOAM Program (IFOAM-Accredited)
- EU Program (EU organic regulations)
- U.S.-Canada Program (COR and NOP-equivalent)
