Processing and Handling

Applicants may have their own processing and handling operations or hire subcontractors to handle the work.
Processing is the conversion of raw agricultural materials into finished products, using produce or products from one’s own production, purchased from contract producers or other certified organic operators. Handling encompasses grading, packing, storage (cold or room-temperature), and distribution.


Processing and handling certifications are available under the  following programs:

*IFOAM Program (IFOAM-Accredited)

*EU Program (EU organic regulations)

*U.S.-Canada Program (COR and NOP-equivalent)
